Lewis’s Bakery smashes BRC standards with baked brilliance!

Following our recent success with getting our bloomer loaf into selected Asda shops in the West Midlands, we are pleased to announce yet another baking achievement.

For the 6th year running we have achieved BRC accreditation status, this year achieving a grade A result, which we couldn’t be happier about!

Over the past couple of decades, the British Retail Consortium, or the BRC, has become an international quality and standards trademark for food safety.

The British public are reliant on them to set the standard and give reassurance that food is not only fit for consumption, but that it complies with all the regulations regarding handling, food preparation and storage. With their stamp of approval, they give you peace of mind that from start to finish, our baked goods along with the ingredients that we use, have been well sourced and well taken care of.

We are proud of what we bake and that’s why we invested in high quality and state of the art technology this year to up our game. With a new oven, mixer and bread plant, we have improved the quality and efficiency of our baked goods and our bakers. We aim to ensure our loyal and ever-growing customer base are consistently impressed with what we produce and how we produce it.

We are also extremely proud of our team and everyone who had a hand in taking the business to the next level. A special thanks goes to our new technical manager, Maria, and her assistant, Hannah, for all their hard work leading the team to success! Well done!

And, to make sure that our customers are also enjoying the sweetness of our success, we have been baking and abundance of panettone, Sally Lunn bread and some exciting fruit breads in preparation for the festive season.

It is every food retailers aim to ensure that they hit that important BRC benchmark, but we will always aim to exceed it. We will continue to change and evolve to get the best out of our bread, but one thing that will never change is our passion for baking.
